Hello and welcome to the information page for the Past Wrongs, Future Choices (PWFC) 2024 Banff Symposium.

The partnership is able to provide, at no cost to you, accommodation at the Banff Centre for Friday, November 15 and Saturday, November 16, 2024 and meals beginning with lunch on Friday, November 15, and concluding with a refreshment break in the afternoon of Sunday, November 17, 2024.

This arrangement is based on double occupancy. Unless you have indicated a preferred roommate, we will assign you to shared rooms. If you require single occupancy, please indicate on your email reply. There is an additional charge for single occupancy that is the responsibility of the attendee. The partnership will invoice you after the conference.

The partnership can also provide a travel subsidy of up to $450 CAD for symposium participants travelling from Canada or the US and up to $1,000 CAD per participant travelling from other international locations. If you have access to institutional travel funds, we encourage you to use these to fund your own flights, so that we can provide additional support to students, postdocs, and members without institutional resources.

Transport

Please plan to fly in and out of Calgary International Airport. The partnership will provide a charter bus to the venue on Friday morning and return on Sunday afternoon.

Accommodations pre and post symposium are the responsibility of the participants as is ground transportation if not using the charter bus.

Please consult directly with project manager, Michael Abe if you need assistance with flight and accommodation arrangements. We are working on contracting a host hotel near the Calgary Airport for preferred rates and charter coach pick up and drop off.

Please find the current draft schedule for the symposium. It will be updated regularly leading up to the symposium. The final itinerary will be distributed to attendees in early November.
