The Teacher Resources Cluster will create digital materials allowing educators to teach Nikkei wartime experiences as a case of global racism. It hopes to internationalize the teaching of this history in both classroom and museums.
A Field School program, developed in partnership with the Nikkei National Museum, will provide an opportunity to train teachers intensively. We will take teachers on tours of sites of internment in British Columbia, and engage them with exciting new resources for teaching this history. This approach complements the cluster’s broadcast of resources through professional development events, social media, and the circulation of ‘museum in a box’ kits.
