Naomi Ostwald Kawamura

The Executive Director of Seattle-based Densho, Naomi Ostwald Kawamura, works to preserve the stories of Japanese Americans unjustly incarcerated during the Second World War. In addition to her role at Densho, she has pursued doctoral research at the University of British Columbia, focusing on the study of collective memory practices found within Japanese American and Japanese Canadian community institutions.
