Jeannie N. Shinozuka
Jeannie N. Shinozuka is assistant professor of Comparative Ethnic Studies at Washington State University, where she also holds the Arnold and Atsuko Craft Professorship. Her book, Biotic Borders: Transpacific Plant and Insect Migration and the Rise of Anti-Asian Racism in America, 1890-1950 (U Chicago Press, 2022), received honorable mention in 2023 for the Frederick Jackson Turner award from the OAH. She is currently researching recent Asian bio-invasions, including the spotted lanternfly and the Asian giant hornet, as well as Asian American and African American students and intelligence tests in the early twentieth century.
