Audrey Kobayashi
Audrey Kobayashi, Director of Past Wrongs, Future Choices, is a distinguished professor emerita at Queens University with many years of experience in Nikkei history and activism. A member of the team that negotiated Redress in Canada (1988), her research interests revolve around processes of human differentiation − race, class, gender, ability, national identity − in a range of landscapes that include homes, streets and workplaces. In scholarship and activism, she has been oriented to public policy and social change. Among her many works related to the areas of PWFC research are her contributions to the 2002 Encyclopedia of Japanese Descendants in the Americas: An Illustrated History of the Nikkei, and in 2017 “Camp Road” in Hinterland of Whiteness: White Fantasies in the Okanagan Valley.
