Dillon Takata

Dillon Takata is the great-grandson of one of the former owners of the Victoria Gorge Park Japanese Garden and Teahouse, which fell into disrepair under the custodianship of the Canadian government from 1942. Alongside the Victoria Nikkei Cultural Society, the Landscapes of Injustice project at UVic, and the Township of Esquimalt, Takata worked toward the construction of a new Gorge Park Pavillion. Unveiled in 2021, it was built in honour of the original pre-war garden and teahouse.
