Katy Whitfield
Katy Whitfield is an award-winning high school teacher, teaching at Bloor Collegiate Institute in the Toronto District School Board. For the past 20 years, she has taught history, French and Drama in Toronto. Katy is a creative, dynamic and innovative curriculum creator and designer/facilitator of unique public history projects. Katy is a world traveller who has visited over 60 countries on 5 continents. She is a published author. She is the former Education Coordinator for the Vimy Foundation. In 2015, Katy was the recipient of the Governor General’s History Award for Excellence in Teaching. Katy has a Master of Education degree from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (2015). She was thrilled to be part of the exciting field experience and project and learned so much through the Nikkei National Museum tour and in partnership with the other participants in the PWFC Internment Era Field School through the University of Victoria.
