Lais Miwa Higa

Lais Miwa Higa is a PhD student in Social Anthropology at the University of Sao Paulo. She has previously conducted research on the Okinawan community, an ethnic group in the Japanese community in Brazil. In her research, she focused on social markers of differences including race, class, and gender, as well as narratives that surround identity, culture, and ethnicity.
